With a strong legal background rooted in commercial law, international human rights, and public policy, Jean H. Lavoie began his career advising governments, private sector clients, and international organizations on complex legal and regulatory matters. This foundation launched a distinguished career in governance, development, and international affairs.
Jean has served in senior leadership and advisory roles with prominent international organizations and consulting firms. He has led major governance programs, headed complex negotiations and mediation processes, and championed innovative public-private partnerships across Africa, South and Southeast Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean.
He has drawn on his vast experience, management and analytical skills, strategic vision, and deep understanding of geopolitics, government operations, procurement, regulatory landscapes, and cultural nuances to help foster and implement equitable development opportunities and to accompany national authorities in critically important structural reforms through his consensus-building abilities, and his strong and reliable relationships with government officials, civil society, and the private sector.
His wide-ranging background in the political, international development, legal, regulatory, financial, and commercial sectors has served him well when addressing the strategic challenges faced by national governments and assisting them in strengthening their international partnerships, alliances and relationships with other countries and corporations operating in their markets.
