Affilia Legal had the honor of hosting, on November 27, an event celebrating the Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. This gathering brought together members of the Mauritanian community, diplomatic representatives, and distinguished guests, showcasing the strong and lasting ties between Mauritania, Montreal, and Canada, as well as Affilia Legal’s continued commitment to this dynamic community.
In his role as Honorary Consul of Mauritania, Bernard Colas, Managing Partner at Affilia Legal, welcomed attendees alongside His Excellency Niang Djibrill Hamadi, Ambassador of Mauritania to Canada. The celebration provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections between the Mauritanian community and Montreal’s diplomatic, cultural, and business networks.
Affilia Legal was also delighted to welcome Mr. Josué Corvil, Montreal City Councillor, whose presence underscored the City’s support for cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. His participation highlighted the importance of close collaboration among municipal leaders, community organizations, and the diplomatic community.
Guests enjoyed traditional Mauritanian cuisine prepared by La Khaïma, a local Mauritanian restaurant. Affilia Legal extends its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Atigh Ould and the entire Atigh’s team for their generous contribution and exceptional dishes, which added an authentic culinary touch to the evening and helped foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Through this celebration on November 27, Affilia Legal reaffirmed its commitment to promoting multiculturalism, diplomacy, and community involvement. The firm looks forward to continuing to support initiatives that bring together the Mauritanian community and its valued partners.
