This workshop encompasses a broad spectrum of subjects, including the diversity of legal systems and the challenges posed by variations in substantive laws and conflict of law rules.

It sheds light on global and regional efforts towards legal harmonization, including the Hague Conventions on Private International Law (HCCH), the Rome I Regulation, and Canadian initiatives to harmonize interprovincial and international laws.

In addition, this workshop explores OHADA’s role in unifying substantive commercial laws across Africa and calls for enhanced harmonization within the AfCFTA framework.
